Oh Buffalo’s a New York city, where it often snows,

And “buffaloes” are bison, as everybody knows.

“To buffalo” means “to bully,” which really is quite mean.

When buffalo buffalo buffalo, it’s often quite a scene.

 

Now the buffaloes that come from Buffalo, are usually immense,

So when a Buffalo buffalo buffalos, it can be quite intense.

When a Buffalo buffalo buffalos a buffalo, he’ll knock it to the ground,

Then the buffalo that’s just been buffaloed, gets up and looks around.

And tries to find a third buffalo, so he can buffalo back,

And he’ll buffalo the Buffalo buffalo that’s the weakest in the pack.

 

Now the weakest Buffalo buffalo, in a Buffalo buffalo’s mind,

Is a buffalo whose just been buffaloed, and so you’ll often find,

In a certain New York city, where there’s lots of ice and snow,

Buffalos buffalo buffaloed buffalo, from Erie to Ontario.

And though it doesn’t seem quite fair, that’s the way things go,
